Malta has a standard corporate tax rate of 35%. Should a company underwrite risks situated outside Malta, it is able to operate the foreign income account and all tax paid by the company is imputed to its shareholders, which can be entitled to refunds of the tax paid by the company bringing the effective tax rate at shareholder level (after the refunds) to circa 5%.

Malta has Double Tax Treaties with numerous countries.
